Thank you again for such a fabulous day.
The weather was very kind to us also.

As promised, here is the photo from John’s camera.
This morning we spent some time inside The Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood, after which we had a couple of rides on the Metro to check out the amazing stations.

We have just had a short rest at the hotel on our way to the canal cruise.
We met two other Aussies at breakfast - they may be joining us on the cruise and at dinner.

Alexei Volkov, owner of MaxiBaltTours, impressed us from the very first contact. Unlike some people in the industry, Alexei responded promptly to the first and subsequent enquiries in detailed and informative way. His suggestions about the best itinerary for our tour were first rate, and he was proactive when circumstances changed, such as when a palace we planned to visit was to be closed for a special event!

Our guide for the day, Elena, was obviously 'hand picked' to match our interests in St Petersburg. Her knowledge and enthusiasm about her city and its history were first class.

Alexei also recommended a great 'local' restaurant and a canal boat tour, both of which were most enjoyable.
