ReviewsBrilliant Two Day St Petersburg Tour plus ballet

We were very impressed with the quality and organisation of this two day tour of St Petersburg.

Prior to the trip, any queries we submitted by email to MaxiBalt were answered promptly - often in less than a couple of hours. After passing through immigration in St Petersburg we were met by Alexei, the General Manager, who escorted us to the minibus and introduced us to our guide, Veronika.

We are both in our early seventies and wondered if we should have chosen a more leisurely tour but needn’t have worried; although the pace was brisk at times there were opportunities to rest and explore on your own. We certainly saw a lot! The only frustration (not the tour company’s fault) was that we occasionally wanted to spend more time looking at the wonderful buildings and works of art but had to move on.

Two lunches in local restaurants were included in the price of our tour. Though not as plentiful or varied as our meals on the ship, they were still of good quality.

Veronika proved a knowledgeable, informative guide particularly during our visit to the galleries of the Hermitage Museum. She was also flexible in her planning ensuring we got the maximum amount of time in each location.

MaxiBalt also arranged an evening trip to the St Petersburg ballet at Mikhailovsky theatre. Again, this was well organised. Alexei personally drove us to the theatre, recommended a place to eat and picked us up at the end of the performance to take us back to our ship.

Thanks to MaxiBalt’s careful planning we had two memorable days in a wonderful city.

We would recommend this company without hesitation and definitely use them again if we had the chance.

What can be more impressive than seeing the beauty of St. Petersburg leisurely from the water? The city is criss-crossed with small rivers and canals which make the city look like Venice or Amsterdam. Our comfortable boat will take you past the granite embankments along the main waterways of St. Petersburg.
