Reviews › Two-day tour of St. Petersburg including Faberge Museum
We completed back-to-back Baltic cruises on the Regal Princess on September 24th.
Of all the many ports we visited, St. Petersburg was the absolute best. St. Petersburg was warm and sunny and the sights were plentiful. We were a small group, 9 the first day and 8 the second.
Our St. Petersburg guide, Olga, is a university-educated young woman who introduced her city to us with enthusiasm. She refused to give up on us even when our eyes were glazed over with the abundance of information on the beautiful city of St. Petersburg! The line-up at the Hermitage Museum was so long but Olga whisked us to the front of the line and asked for permission to enter immediately since we were a small group. Her wish was granted!
Our tour included a visit to the Faberge Museum. Although it was nice to see the Faberge Eggs, this tour was at the end of the second day and I think we were too tired to truly appreciate the beauty of the artifacts.
Olga was mindful of the time constraints associated with touring cruise passengers and made sure we were back to the ship on time. We travelled in a van and our driver did an excellent job. A small group tour is the only way to see St. Petersburg, especially if you are lucky enough to have Olga as your tour guide!
